2021 SCHOOL FEES AND PAYMENT OPTIONS

The 2021 school budget for Chelsea Preparatory School was approved at the annual general meeting held on 5 November 2020. The school fees for 2021 are R37 200.00 per learner per annum.

The payment of school fees is statutory in nature and prescribed by law, being compulsory for parents in accordance to Sections 39, 40 and 41 the SA Schools Act No.84 of 1996. School fees may not be referred to a debt counsellor for debt review under Section 129 of the National Credit Act. Accordingly the school has the right to proceed with legal action should school fees not be paid.

Whilst school fees are payable in advance, the school offers the following payment structure to assist parents:

  1. Upfront settlement by 31 January 2021

Payment made in full, strictly on or before 31 January 2021, will qualify for a 10% discount, reducing the annual fees to R33 480.00 per learner. Credit card payments will not qualify for the discount.

  1. Upfront settlement by 28 February 2021

Payment made in full, strictly on or before 28 February 2021, will qualify for a 7% discount, reducing the annual fees to R34 596.00 per learner.  Credit card payments will not qualify for the discount.

  1. Monthly debit orders – Signed forms to be returned by Friday 20 November 2020

Debit orders will run monthly on the 1st or 15th for 10 months commencing February to November 2021 for R3 720.00 per learner, with a discount of R1 860.00 per learner on the final November instalment. In order to qualify for the discount, every instalments must be met without default. This discount reduces the annual fees to R35 340.00 per learner.

The discounts offered are subject to the learner being in the school for the year; and will be withdrawn should the child leave during the course of the year. A term’s paid notice is required in the event of your child leaving the school.

Any other structure of school fee payment will not qualify for a discount, and there is no sibling discount offered. Should the payment of school fees not be paid timeously, the account will be deemed to be in arrears; and the school will be entitled to proceed with legal action.
